We look forward to sharing in a joint performance on 7th December as listed above.
Sonic Bothy was one of several Glasgow Life/City Council partnered projects submitted to the National Music Council Awards, and was very excited to receive the Paritor Award for New Music in Education. Read more about the Paritor Award and other winners at the National Music Council website.

Working with Claire Docherty (Sonic Bothy), George Burt and a group of young musicians from Kirkintilloch to produce music for a (deliciously theatrical) reading of Tam O’Shanter by Tam Dean Burn. We’ll be in residence at the Lillie Art Gallery, Milngavie, Glasgow for three days surrounded by the current exhibition of paintings depicting the poem. Final performance on 4th March at 2.30 pm. Part of ‘Tam Fest’.
In September we had a Sound Lab concert in the Recital Room at City Halls, Glasgow and in early November the ensemble was in residence at Sound Festival in Aberdeen.
We had a jam-packed few days of workshops and rehearsals with a final concert in the Phoenix Centre, in the very wonderful Newton Dee Village set on a farm. Find out more about Sonic Bothy ensemble at the Sonic Bothy website.
I am delighted to have been working with inclusive contempoary music ensemble Sonic Bothy leading up to a performance at Counterflows Festival 2014. We have been exploring a combination of recorded and acoustic sounds – merging them to create an atmospheric, improvised live performance.
