I have been working with Martin O’Connor on his spoken word performance TheMark of the Beast. The show is on from 13th – 15th April at Platform, Glasgow and in Edinburgh at the Scottish Storytelling Centre on 19th April.
This performance is a culmination of our research and development with the North East Recovery Cafes in Glasgow in 2016. The project was supported by Platform to Health and GRAND.
At that time, I composed a sound installation Good Days Bad Days, incorporating the many voices/stories of participant’s experiences. I have re-visited and re-composed that material for Martin’s solo show The Mark of the Beast.
I’m absolutely delighted and excited to be part of this event performing in a duo with Alex South. We are exploring the music/sound potential of voice and clarinets through improvisation. Opening the evening for a great line-up!
The event is on 21st November 2017 at The Glad Cafe in Glasgow from 8 pm.
I’m very excited to say we have now filmed Berio’s Sequenza III for Wendy Kirkup’s current moving image project, which has now been titled film from a score. Above is a digital still from the shoot, big thanks to Wendy for that.
I love this cheery post-filming photo of Wendy and I…
And here’s the film team – Caitlin, Jack and wonderful Mark Vernon recording sound…

I am very excited to have been invited to create a live score for the Video Jam event on the opening night of the Colombo Art Biennale, Sri Lanka. I will be responding with a solo vocal performance to a beautiful clip of Sri Lankan film-maker Vimukthi Jayasundara’s Light in the Yellow Breathing Space.
